We begin our day with a visit to Tintern Abbey Mill, this quaint and independent craft complex and coffee house dates back to 1936 and is currently run by the 3rd and 4th generations of the Rastall family. Here you will find the Mill is perfectly situated amidst breathtaking scenery in the heart of the Wye Valley on the banks of the River Wye and offers a relaxed setting for your enjoyment - However for a real treat we reccommend trying one of the huge Wheelhouse teacakes or freshly made Welsh Cakes on offer!
We then continue for a scenic drive through the Wye Valley to the historic market town of Monmouth and birthplace of HenryV. Monmouth is renowned for it's range of independant shops, cafe's and historic locations including the 13th century gatehouse bridge. You will have free time to explore and enjoy lunch here before we continue on to our afternoon at the Dean Forest Railway.
The Dean Forest Railway takes you through 4.5 miles of line running through beautiful woodland and countryside offering visitors a chance to experience the relaxing pace of a typical British branch line. During your return trip you will be served a delicious cream tea on board consisting of Scones, Jam, Cream and Tea or Coffee.
